About Angela

I started acting when I was a child, but I was truly bitten by the stage bug in high school, when I performed in Peter Pan with Cathy Rigby at Theatre Under The Stars in Houston. One night, as I ran out for a curtain call, I fell onstage and thought I might have ruined the show! But I got up and continued my staging and the audience still clapped. At that moment, I learned that art imitates life, and I wanted to cover myself in THAT.

After high school, I studied musical theatre in Chicago at Roosevelt University's Theatre Conservatory and worked professionally in Chicago for two years before making my way to New York City.  Since then, I have been a working actor / singer — and I can't imagine doing anything else. I learn so much from this business and have found great joy, while discovering beautiful things about myself and others. I pray that God continues to bless my walk in the arts and continues to make dreams come true.

Broadway Inspirational Voices

In 2022, Angela accepted the role of Executive Director for Broadway Inspirational Voices (BIV), a diverse choir of Broadway artists united to  change lives through the power of music and service. Founded in 1994 by Tony-nominee Michael McElroy, BIV is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission consists of providing HOPE to INSPIRE and TRANSFORM youth in need through music and the arts.

Angela joined the Broadway Inspirational Voices Choir in 2009 and the BIV’s Arts and Education Team in 2016.  While on the National Tour of Disney's Newsies, she traveled to Covenant House locations across North America, volunteering and leading workshops for homeless youth and in 2016 introduced BIV’s program “Songs in the Key of ME!” at the New York site, while subsequently establishing the “BIV@” monthly programs.
